December Daily - December 6

Tonight, Claire & I made salt dough ornaments for our tree. We still need to paint them, but I didn't realize they take two hours to bake when I decided to start making them at 8pm! I also think we rolled some of them out too thin and they may be too fragile. And they seem really dry around the edges. We'll see...luckily the ingredients are cheap which means we can always make another batch and try again! While they were baking I found some different directions and their dough looks a lot softer than ours was...ours was kind of gritty.

Claire was insistence that we had to make a cat ornament using one of our Halloween cookie cutters. Silly child. We also made a couple of snow flakes, a hand print, a Christmas tree and two circles. Claire liked helping mix and roll the dough, she didn't care that much about making the hand print (but that was what I really wanted her to do) and she LOVED using the cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Although she wanted a triangle and an oval, and I don't have cookie cutters in those shapes.

  1. I had to skip all the books that I've started and not finished or I would never have finished my list.
